THE KONMARI METHOD™

The KonMari Method™ is a tool to bring you to your ideal lifestyle through tidying your home.

By doing so you re-frame your relationship with your belongings and discover what brings you joy and what matters to you most.

The KonMari Method™ was founded by a renowned Japanese tidying expert Marie Kondo. The essence of the method is about keeping only those things that speak to your heart, and discarding items that no longer spark joy, thanking them for their service – then letting them go. The method places great importance on being mindful, introspective and forward-looking.

The key is tidying by category and in the right order, opposed to room-by-room which according to Marie is not as effective. She claims that if you tidy a bit every day you will be tidying forever!

The KonMari Method™ is about choosing what to keep and not what to get rid of.

Marie Kondo is a tidying expert, bestselling author of her two books "The Life Changing Magic of Tidying" and "Spark Joy" and a star of Netflix's hit show, "Tidying Up With Marie Kondo,"

Marie has been enchanted with organising since her childhood, and began her tidying consultant business as a 19 year old university student in Tokyo.

Marie Kondo is a firm believer in sorting your clutter by categories over location, discarding before arranging, then arranging everything all in one go and paying gratitude to things that you own.

Tidying your space using this proven method brings a true life changing magic to your life.

"As you put your house in order and decrease your possessions, you'll see what your true values are, what is really important to you in your life."

Six Basic Rules of The KonMari Method™

1. Commit yourself to tidying up.

Commitment is one of the most important steps in the process. By committing yourself you realise that you want to tidy and establish your challenges.

2. Imagine your ideal lifestyle.

Imagination creates reality. If you imagine something you can actually make it happen! The most overlooked step in the method, yet the most vital.

3. Finish discarding first.

The KonMari Method is unique in this sense as during the process all storage is temporary. You store once you know exactly what you're left with.

4. Tidy by category, not by location.

Gathering all items of the same category in one place gives you true sense and understanding of the volume you have. Tidying by location is fatal!

5. Follow the right order.

By doing so you hone your sensitivity to what brings you joy and you understand yourself better as you progress during the process.

6. Ask yourself if it sparks joy.

Identify your spark joy feeling by holding each item in your hand and ask yourself questions.
